Western Division Tournament broadcasts taking different shape

Tim Allen

BUTTE – If you’re unable to make it to the Butte Civic Center this week for the MHSA Class C Western Division Tournament, watching it on the NFHS Network will look very different from years past.

Tournament Director Ed Burke, Athletic Director at Sheridan High School, let the division’s athletic directors know that the format will change this year to prevent broadcasts cutting off mid-game. He offered directions on how to find and watch this year’s games.

Search Butte High School (aka the Bulldogs) on the NFHS App

Butte controls the NFHS feed at the Civic Center and has setup the broadcasts in large time blocks without any team or gender specifications. DO NOT search for a specific team or Western Division. Look for the tournament in the events of Butte High School under Live or Upcoming Events.

They will bear the label “2025 MHSA Boys & Girls Basketball Postseason Tournament” followed by Part 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Time Blocks vs Specific Game Times

These blocks start at 9 a.m., 2 p.m., 7 p.m., and 10 p.m. Games will typically start on time in the morning, but due to things like close games and overtimes, they may run long. When one block ends simply go to the next time block.

Consolation Semifinals at the MAC

The Maroon Activities Center (MAC) will host two of the Consolation Bracket Semifinals on Saturday morning. These games can be found under Butte Central on the NFHS App.
